Northeast India is a region comprising eight states β Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim. It is connected to the rest of India by a narrow strip of land called the Siliguri Corridor or Chickenβs Neck. The region is known for its diverse ethnic groups, rich cultural heritage, and scenic beauty, including hills, valleys, and rivers.
The Brahmaputra River flows through Assam, supporting fertile plains and biodiversity. Northeast India shares international borders with China, Bhutan, Myanmar, Bangladesh, and Nepal, making it strategically important. The region is also home to unique traditions, festivals (like Bihu and Hornbill Festival), and a variety of flora and fauna.
